CYTO 2012 AWARDS

President's Award for Excellence

The President's Award for Excellence will be awarded for an outstanding presentation by a post-doctoral scientist.  All abstract submitters who have received a doctoral degree within the last 5 years are eligible.  Finalists will be notified prior to the CYTO Conference and will be expected to make a formal presentation of their work in a special session of the conference.  The winner will be recognized at the Award Ceremony and presented with a certificate and a check for $1,000 USD.

Exceptional Student Award

The Exceptional Student Award will be awarded for an outstanding presentation by a pre-doctoral student.  All abstract submitters who are enrolled in a pre-doctoral graduate program are eligible.  Finalists will be notified prior to the CYTO Conference and will be expected to make a formal presentation of their work in a special session of the conference.  The winner will be recognized at the Award Ceremony and presented with a certificate and a check for $1,000 USD.

Outstanding Poster Awards

All poster presenters who are students or post-doctoral researchers (who have received their doctorate within the last five years) are eligible.  The posters will be judged at the time they are scheduled to be presented by the author.  Those posters not attended at their scheduled time will not be considered.  Poster winners will be recognized at the Award Ceremony and presented with a monetary prize.

A formal application is not required for the Exceptional Student Award, the Presidential Award for Excellence, or the Outstanding Poster Award.  All eligible abstracts will be considered for these awards.

Student Travel Award

ISAC has established a fund for students whose abstracts have been approved for either oral or poster presentation at the CYTO Conference and who require financial aid to attend.  Interested students should complete the online award application available on the abstract submission site.  ISAC members (either active or registering for the CYTO Conference) enrolled in a program leading to a doctoral degree, M.D., Ph.D., D.M.V., D.O., D.D.S. or equivalent are eligible.  The value of the student travel award is at the discretion of the Membership Services Committee but will not exceed $1,000 USD.  Students who are not members of ISAC and who are successful in their travel award application will automatically become members of ISAC but will not receive the journal Cytometry.  It is the responsibility of each approved applicant to cover any additional cost for attendance at the CYTO Conference not covered by this travel award.  The option to submit a Travel Award Application is provided on the abstract submission site.

Please note:

• Abstract submission is mandatory for the Student Travel Award.
• Curriculum vitae and proof of enrollment must be included with the Travel Award Application.
• The required application and material must be submitted on the abstract submission site by February 1, 2012.

Notifications will be sent to selected Travel Award Applicants by April 1, 2012.
